We have enjoyed the wettest winter in years! Rumor has it we got over 12 inches since February! Here is photo of a beautiful rainbow--in between rainstorms....

It is raining again right now. :-) In another life, I am sure I was a duck!

Going to San Diego

I went down to San Diego last Tuesday to help Morgan out and take her to her first post-op physical therapy appointment! It was a trial watching her slowly navigate the stairs from the second floor apartment down to the parking lot!

Her therapist was afraid she had wrecked the same knee he had worked with her the first time, but no. It was the other knee. She had the same surgery, torn ACL and meniscus fixed on the second knee.

I went to the day care and picked up the kids after they got out of school and we had some quality time at McD's, eating ice cream sundaes and watching them play in the playland. Then I took them back, took Morgan home, vacuumed, set her up with water, snacks and her laptop. Headed home.

These are my friend Yessika's two youngest twins. I say youngest because this is her second set--in three years! The babies are clutching baby quilts I made for them..so cute!

The Wheels of Justice

I recently was a court room administrator for Riverside County Mock Trial competition. All the area high schools put teams together. The county sends out an info packet with rules, etc. Also the information about the "case" to which they have been assigned. Our case was a Fourth Amendment challenge for illegal search and seizure done in the process of a murder investigation. It was pretty interesting.

I received a huge envelope of paperwork to pass out to the "Judge," the four actual attorneys that do the scoring; the student bailliffs and clerks, etc., etc., etc. Then I try and collect it at the end of the round and act all organized. I pulled it off pretty slick that night. I only forgot to give the judge her form for acceptable objections!

It says a lot about these teenagers who give up their time and energy to participate in this challenging activity. AND to their parents who support them. We had 16 court rooms, 16 real judges, 16 times 4 scoring attorneys, 16 court room administrators, etc. A lot of people involved in this endeavor. Good kids. It was a great experience! I go again in two weeks. They will have weeded out about half the teems so it will be even more impressive next time.

Sledding in Big Bear

December 26 we went to go up to Big Bear to go sledding. Unfortunately, about 2 million other people had the same idea! Parking was primo; the city's best were out in force issuing $150 parking tickets. We narrowly escaped getting one ourselves. Rob was pretty disgusted that a city known for it's tourists, etc., would go to such lengths to "punish" them for coming to the city!

The women and kids were dropped off an abandoned warehouse that had a killer hill behind it and the guys parked. We had three sleds and all were much used.
Even Kent finally got excited. We eventually created a monster as he went down the hills over and over again!

Even I got into the fun. Robert taped one of my slides! I have attached the video!

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2009!

We went over to Brenda's in Menifee at 9:00 AM. They had already gone through Round 1 of the gifts; our arrival brought the much anticipated Round 2! We have always done it one at a time as much as possible and drag it out so everyone can enjoy everyone else's gifts, too.





Kent got a really cute mini car race track that kept him and Grandpa pretty darn interested all day!

We got the grandkids bathrobes! It was on everyone's wish list!

Later we had a delicious Christmas Day dinner of Costco ham and all the trimmings!

Christmas Eve 2009

We spent Christmas Eve at Larry's sister's and was it packed! Standing room only! We had a nice Mexican buffet dinner, went caroling, played the traditional "chimes," and ate goodies!
